BIO
Anna is a southern California native who attended St. Monica Academy, a classical school in Pasadena, through high school. She spent two years studying philosophy at a liberal arts school in Ojai, California, and ultimately received a BA in Spanish from USC. Many of her family have homeschooled so she is familiar with the method and appreciates the options to curate an educational path.
 
During and after finishing her degree Anna has worked as a baker and pastry chef, daily making use of her Spanish in kitchens in the Los Angeles Area. She has been leading a team since 2023, and the experience equips her to be an informed and thoughtful instructor. She has two years tutoring experience in Spanish and other subjects.
 
An educator’s role is to elicit from a student both a desire to know and the means to do so. It is through their education that students mature into thoughtful individuals; the instructor invites the student to grow. To this end, Anna likes to ask questions and request frequent input from the student to accelerate the learning experience. This is a key and neglected aspect of language acquisition. 

In her free time from the bakery Anna cooks, reads, writes, paints, plays piano, and enjoys taking walks. She was recently married and is enjoying beginning her new family.
