BIO
I grew up in San Jose, CA where I began teaching for East Side Union High School District in 2012. Life brought me to Los Angeles in 2016 where I began teaching for Alhambra Unified School District soon after. I’ve been in the K-12 classroom since 2008, but spent the majority of my time as a high school history teacher. I received my bachelor’s from Hawaii Pacific University (2007), credential from San Jose State University (2010), and went on to get my master’s in Teaching Social Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University (2011). I have been supporting families through a homeschooling charter for over 4 years and am homeschooling my own children. When I'm not teaching I am training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or hula, and watching my children progress in their activities as well!
