LESSON FEES: $40 for a 30-minute lesson $50 for a 45-minute lesson $60 for a 60-minute lesson IN-PERSON LESSON LOCATIONS: Claremont, Upland, Covina, Glendora, Rancho Cucamonga Libraries: Helen Renwick Claremont Library, Glendora Library SUBJECTS: Health, Kinesiology, Elementary Math, Essay Writing, IEW Curriculum, Grammar/Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Geography, Social Studies, Cooking, Gardening, Book Clubs COACH BIO: An educator for more than 20 years, Janet has taught many subjects in contexts that include at home with her daughter through grades 6-12, Independent Study Programs, Foothill Country Day School, the Rift Valley, Our Neighborhood Homework House, Pomona Valley Art Association, The Grunewald Guild, and The Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation. She is currently tutoring three elementary students. She approaches each lesson intent on students understanding why learning the subject material matters. She holds degrees in Kinesiology and Public Health and has worked in outpatient orthopedics and skilled nursing facilities. Work and pleasure have taken Janet to four continents, including several unforgettable treks in Himalaya. Every land and culture have been inspirational and educational. Janet’s bookish self is working on a writing project that highlights the minor characters in the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, which she read every October from 2001-2020. She and her husband, Todd Frantz, live with Fey the Faithful, and Pinwheel the Cat in La Verne, CA.
