She started her musical education at 12 years old when she began studying voice through River Springs Charter School with a variety of teachers and performing in her church band. In 2013, she started at Minnesota State University Moorhead where she studied classical voice, musical theater voice, jazz voice, jazz improvisation, composition and jazz arranging. In 2017, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies and since graduation, has released music each year under her name, on which she wrote, sang, produced, arranged and played piano. She has toured around the country with different variations of her band, as well as other artists as a keyboardist and background vocalist, and is always working on new music. As a teacher, Jessica meets students where they are and loves helping them achieve their goals with theory and technique in a fun, comfortable way. Each lesson is specifically tailored to foster the students strengths and expand their skill set in a way that encourages and empowers them. Jessica was homeschooled herself from kindergarten through her junior year, so she looks forward to working with students through Home School Coaches that have a similar background as herself!
